Last week I picked up my "little girl" to bring her home for spring break from college. Then on Monday I took her to the airport so that she could spend a few days in Florida with her grandparents. As I pulled up to the terminal, stopped the car, (gave her some money), she jumped out and off to the plane she went. It was a weird feeling --- what happened to my little girl who would get scared and run to me for protection --- now she is off and getting on an airplane all by herself --- seemingly not scared of anything.
My parents used to say to me when the girls were little --- "they will grow up and be gone before you know it." Like most things that parents say, at the time we don't realize how right they are! Lindsey will turn 16 in a month a be getting her drivers licence. Haley will head off to High school in the fall. Where has the time gone?
Take time to enjoy the gifts of life. The sand of time does indeed run quickly, so don't waste a moment on things that don't matter!
