Thanks to everyone who has commented about the pictures. I haven't gotten any comments on the blog --- Is anybody reading it?
We flew to the Big Island yesterday --- drove around the Hilo area, stopped at the TSUNAMI museum, Macadamia Nut Factory and some waterfalls. Eventually we arrived in Volcano. We are staying at a Bed and Breakfast on the edge of the National Park. We drove in last night for a quick look and will leave shortly for a full day in the park. Hopefully we will be able to see some of the lava flows.
Tomorrow we will travel slowly, via lots of stops to Kona.

It is ironic and paradoxical that the Volcano, which is so beautiful, a source of new life for the islands, is also a potent power of great destruction. It has its Dark Side, or Evil Side. I try to remember that the opposite of Evil is Life. God is not the gentle, sweet person that we learned about in the Sunday Schools of our youth, Only, God is also "The Destroyer Of Worlds" I have trouble reconciling the two great sides of God's power and have come to believe that my puny mind cannot do it. Althought the world does not make complete sense, it nearly does, I still believe in a loving and creative power that is at work in the Univers. Fred Conger

Hi, We are enjoying your doggy. He sleeps a lot during the day. And sleeps with us during the night-sometimes on the bed but ususally on the floor. He will have some company today when his cousin dog comes over. I must figure out how to feed them so Zepphie gets some food.

I liked yesterday's blog titled " Remember ". Would love to visit Pearl Harbor someday.
It sounds like the vacation is going well and quite active I think it's great that the Congers can have this time together to enjoy each other as well as Hawaii.
